Winter Solstice
In ancient times, the winter solstice which takes place around the 20th of December, was a turning point in the life of northern hemisphere people. It marked the moment when the sun's rays started waxing again. It was a time of rejoicing and celebration of re-birth, during which the provisions harvested during the year would be shared with others. Fire was a key element of those festivities, as were all symbols of the sun. Today we keep this tradition alive during the time of the longest night of the year with spicy aromas and hot colours. This cinnamon and cranberry fragranced candle with its warm hot cinnamon rustic finishing, cinnamon stick and dried orange slice will fill those long winter nights with the reminiscence of summer and the life-giving force of the sun for up to 55 hours.
